Before beginning any project, identifying underground utilities and structure is critical for safety and cost reduction. State law requires a locate before any excavation begins to prevent costly damage to underground utilities in the area. However, public locates are very limited in scope, leaving private utilities unmarked and some public utilities marked incorrectly. Exterra Utility offers complete utility identification, marking, and follow up with immediate or next day availability. We are here to make your excavation easy and safe.
Exterra Utility utilizes the latest GPR technology to identify structures, utilities, and other anomalies, to locate what other companies can't. GPR has the ability to locate gas, oil, production pipelines, PVC and ductal water lines, septic systems, electrical duct banks, large or bundled communication lines, fiberoptic communications and more; all without excavation. GPR also allows for accurate depth measuring of existing utilities.
Nearly all as-builts contain flaws due to neglected updates, making it difficult for project planning and causes delays in scheduling. We offer a full range of mapping options to existing as-builts or new direct utility reference mapping, saving on unexpected costs and delays for your project.
One of the most tiresome, detrimental, costly, and invasive parts of pipeline inspection is the digging. Both manual and machine digging require a large upfront budget and the destruction of land or property, even if you don’t find a problem in the pipeline. With CCTV pipeline inspections, there’s no digging and minimal interaction with underground and above-ground components. Not only does this save you time and money, but it also provides the same results in a fraction of the time.
At Exterra Utility, we utilize the latest technology to ensure safe, cost effective, and productive methods are used to verify substructures. Potholing crews come equipped to execute various methods and ensure we are able to meet the needs of your project, from various hand tools methods to vacuum excavation. Our crews are also setup to perform sawcutting, coring, backfill, and temporary or final surface restorations to make the workflow as easy as possible for our clients.
